Snow conditions today at the Grand Tourmalet (Great!)

Em and I popped out between snow storms today to see how things are on and off the pistes. Verdit: Good and much more snow on the way (-20 and white out due this weekend Brrrrr).

First snows, looking good for the 2016-17 winter season

The first significant snows have come to the French Hautes Pyrenees with more on the way. Looks to be a good start to the 2016-2017 winter season. The Grand Tourmalet ski resort is due to open at the end of the month and close on teh 16th of April this year.

Skiing the Pic du Midi de Bigorre. Free-ride in the Pyrenees

When there was no snow in the Alps at the start of last season some dudes from up that way came to play with the locals on the Pic du Midi De Bigorre – Grand Tourmalet, Barèges… The results are good!

“Fall Lines” Magazine Will Robson says “Pyrenees were epic” The one thing I regret about this winter is… Apart from missing the good snow on every trip? It has to be not skiing the Pyrenees until now. It was epic, both touring where the bears are (sleeping ); and riding down from the Pic Du Midi observatory.
