GR10 & GR11 – Grand Randonees

The GR10 and GR11 routes cross the Pyrenees from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean. The GR10 sticks to the French side of the border, while the GR11 is the Spanish equivalent. These routes are clearly marked with an obvious red-and-white marker stripe, and they generally follow good, well-travelled paths.

We currently only run bespoke trips along the GR10 and GR11, for groups of 4 or more. If you are interested, please contact us to discuss which parts of the route you’d like to do and the support you would require.

If you want to find out more about what it’s like to hike the GR10, please talk to Rob and Emma Mason (the directors of Mountainbug) who walked the whole GR10 in 2002.

If you are a solo traveller, or part of a smaller group, we offer scheduled guided treks on the Pyrenean Haute Route, HRP, in July and August. The trek is available in 1 week, 2 week or 3 week stages following the central section of the HRP high level route from the mountain village of Etsaut, in the Western Pyrenees, to the Encantats national park, just West of Andorra. These three stages of the HRP travel through the Pyrenees National Park and pass many of the iconic peaks and lakes of the Pyrenees, including the Vignemale, Gavarnie, the Ordesa canyon, Mont Perdu and Aneto. The maximum group size is 8 people.

This is a hut-to-hut trek, with accommodation at mountain refuges that are supplied by donkeys or helicopter, with natural water sources and solar power. The food is simple, but tasty and generous –  cooked by the refuge guardians; dedicated lovers of the mountains who live in the refuges for a season, or even years! You can choose whether to do one week, two weeks or three full stages with us, and whether to do more of the HRP independently before you join us or after.  Please see our Trekking Calendar for details of when we are guiding each stage.
