Who is this for?

This is guided walking, for people who want to discover the lakes, valleys, canyons, traditional mountain villages, and flora and fauna of the Pyrenees. We offer week long walking holidays, and some of the walks are available as day trips, subject to availability.

What do we do and see?

A typical week’s walking holiday takes in the more accessible cirques, lakes, gentle ridges and easy peaks. We’ll pass through pretty mountain villages and along ancient paths to hidden mountain monuments, getting a real feel for the mountain way of life. The Pyrenees are wonderful because, within a short walk from a high ski or col-road, we can find ourselves in a completely unspoiled wilderness. On an Explorer Pyrenees guided walking holiday there are also opportunities to sample village cafés and buy local produce.

What fitness level do I need?

While we avoid strenuous climbs where possible on an Explorer guided walking holiday, there will always be an element of ascent because we’re in the heart of the high Pyrenees mountains. The Explorer walks are accessible to anyone who is fairly active.

Who leads these walks?

All of our Pyrenees guided mountain walking holidays are led by qualified International Mountain Leaders. They will make sure you get the most out of your mountain walking holiday, passing on their extensive local knowledge and choosing routes to suit your particular interests and abilities. For our Explorer guided mountain walking holiday, we currently offer the following holidays:
