1 week holidays run Saturday-Saturday, and prices include your accommodation in a spacious en-suite bedroom, generous continental breakfasts, tea and home-baked cake in the afternoons, and delicious three-course evening meals with after-dinner coffee. Walking and activity holidays also included five fulls days out with a qualified guide or instructor, all specialist equipment hire and local transport.

Please see our accommodation page for photos of our lovely house. Visit our ski page for more information about skiing in the Pyrenees.

Transfers are available at €40 per person for a return transfer to Pau-Pyrenees airport (less than half the price of a taxi) or €25 to Tarbes-Lourdes airport. Please check availability with us before booking your travel.

We are happy to help you with arrangements for mountain activities, and can suggest walking & cycling routes and places to visit during your stay.

Just book a cheap flight with Ryanair and let us do the rest! Transfer by minibus from the airport up into the mountains where we (Emma and Rob), are your chalet hosts at our lovingly-restored house in the heart of the mountain village of Bareges. We are year-round English residents in the village and will be able to show you all the best places to go for the best hiking, cycling and dining. We are qualified mountain leaders and can also arrange additional activities including paragliding, canyoning, rafting, caving, via ferrata, rock climbing, pony trekking and more...

Accommodation

We have six large well appointed bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, and can offer double-, twin- or family- (4 to 7 people sharing) accommodation for up to 14 people. As well as your room, all our guests have access to the comfy lounge, with a lovely wood-burning stove, big-screen home cinema, free internet access, well-stocked bar and coffee bar. We also have a Finnish sauna, dining room, heated equipment room (for coats, boots and skis) and a sunny patio garden. Accommodation is usually half-board. We have B&B options during the low season and for last-minute bookings. Tucked just a few metres behind the main street of Bareges, our house is close to the local bakery, grocery, ski shops and lively bars and restaurants. You are also able to ski back to the village on a green and a blue run for most of the season. (Click here or the Cailloux picture for more details/pictures of the house)

Food
We offer a high standard of meals with our catered options. A typical continental breakfast would include fresh bread and croissants with butter and jams, a selection of cereals or porridge, orange juice, tea and coffee. Our half-board option includes breakfast, and also a delicious three-course evening meal with after-dinner coffee. We also have an additional bar and coffee-bar in our lounge area. Packed lunches are available on request. On our night off on Wednesdays, you will be spoiled by the choice of excellent restaurants in the village. We can also recommend several nearby mountain auberges specialising in local French cuisine. On some Winter nights it is possible to eat out at Chez Louisette restaurant, on the ski slopes, then ski back to the village by torch light after your meal with a ski school guide.
